Thrush Sports Performance provides strength/speed
training for elite athletes in all sports, from junior high to professional levels. Using methods derived from Olympic style weightlifting, the staff of the Training Center provides individually developed training programs for athletes which are designed to enhance strength, speed, agility, and flexibility as well as to protect the athlete from injury. Programs consist of three, four and five day per week options with emphasis on out-of-season conditioning and preparation. The Center welcomes the participation of all ages from 9 years of age and up depending on the evaluation of the staff concerning the readiness of the applicant. Our professional staff will:
- Develop the strength/speed potential of the athlete
- Increase the athlete’s flexibility
- Increase the athlete’s fitness/conditioning level
- Enhance the athlete’s athleticism through complex movement drills
- Counsel on nutrition concerning weight gain/loss
- Provide a holistic approach which protects the athlete from injury
- Develop character and work ethic through the discipline of the training system.
Thrush Sports Performance is in the business of preparing athletes for the rigors the competitive arena and the playing field. Our athlete’s are powerful, fast, flexible, and stay that way throughout the entire length of their activity. And, most importantly, they are trained to be safe from injury. Our athlete’s train to reach their athletic potential and to perform at the top of their game.
Additionally, the Center provides the training location for the nationally renowned Calpian Weightlifting Club, National Men’s Team Champion in 2000. With both an actively competitive men’s and women’s team, the club offers a great opportunity for those athletes interested in competing in this great sport. Tryouts are on an ongoing basis and can be requested through the Head Coach, John Thrush or Assistant Coach, Al Reed.
